Graduation & A lil' update!!

AHHH, it seriously has been forever!! Today was an amazing day. I can FINALLY say that I am part of Utah Valley University ALUMNI. That is right, today I FINALLY Graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Science with a major in Elementary Education. It feels so amazing, and I am so proud of my accomplishment!!!

My little family is doing amazing. Dustin is working as a lineman Electrician and is loving it!! Kaysten is SIX MONTHS OLD in TWO days!! Where did the time go?!?!

Some things he is doing:
Sitting up ALL BY HIMSELF
Talks and jabbers all the time. It is so cute he says HIIIII and Get CHU- (well it sounds like that)
I will make a pouty face, and he will make one right back and start crying, SAD but SOOO CUTE!
He can roll over like CRAZY!!
He is starting to scoot around!!
He loves his dad so much, and it is SOOO CUTE!!! :)
He loves to hit things to make noises!!
He loves his bouncer!!

Here are some pictures of today, and of our little guy playing!! I couldn't have earned my degree without the love and support from my family and Dustin's family!! Everyone has helped so much, especially Watching Kaysten when I have been doing homework and been at school. I am so glad they helped me out and I stuck with it!! THANKS GUYS-- LOVE YOU ALL!!! :)

Life has been soo good!!

UPDATE!!

Last week Kaysten had to get surgery on his stomach, because he had Pyloric Stenosis. He gave us a good scare. I took him into the hospital Monday- not having any idea what was wrong with him. All I knew was we had tried multiple formulas, and he wasn't able to keep down anything that the poor little guy would eat. The doctor sent us up to Utah Valley Monday night to get surgery on him. When we got there Kaysten had progressively gotten worse and worse. He was so dehydrated that he started to get really weak and unconscious. The nurses had such a hard time getting an IV in him- but after NINE pokes (three in the head) they finally got an IV in his arm. I was a NERVOUS wreck by time this happened. The surgery happened the next morning, and by this time Kaysten was SOOO HUNGRY! He couldn't eat before his surgery and he couldn't eat for three hours after his surgery. We could only start him out on a 1/2 ounce twice, then 1 ounce twice, 1 1/2 ounces twice, and then 2 ounces twice-- with three hours in between each feeding. It was SO HARD doing this because he would just CRY and CRY!! He is doing so much better now and we are very thankful for this! He is like having a new baby around- he smiles and talks so much more!

As for me and Dustin nothing has really changed. I just finished my third semester in the education program, and I will graduate in April. Dustin is working as a lineman electrician and loving it!

We had a great Christmas- even though Kaysten had no idea what was going on. He still smiled when we showed him the presents!! Dustin and I got spoiled this year lol!!! I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas as well!!!!

Kaysten Feels so much better :) This is him sleeping after surgery- and this is the incisions they made on his stomach. They stuck a camera through his belly button. It was so sad-- SO glad he is feeling better!

ONE MONTH OLD!!

I cannot believe our baby boy is ALREADY one month old! He is so amazing!! We love him SO much!!!!

Thankful!

Well it is November, of course the month to be thankful! I thought I would do a quick post about what I am thankful for.

I am so thankful for my amazing little family. I am thankful that we were blessed with such a handsome little (BIG) healthy boy. He is the most amazing thing ever.

I am SO thankful for my amazing husband. I seriously love him so much, and I do not know what I would do without him. He works so hard to provide for our little family. We miss him during the weeks, but love when we get to spend lots of time with him on the weekends!! I love you DUSTIN!!

I am so thankful for both of our families. We have so much help with our little man and I am so thankful for that!!!

Introducing Our Baby Boy

Kaysten Dustin Peterson was born October 29, 2011 FINALLY!! He was eight days overdue!! Dustin and I are so glad that he is finally here!! He was a BIG baby!! He was 9LBS 1 OZ and 21 1/2 inches long.

We love him SOOO MUCH!!!

WHERE DID SHE GO?!-- a post FINALLY!

Maybe this is the question you have all been asking yourself!?! I kind of went away for a bit when things got busy!! It was crazy planning a wedding, moving, trying to finish school, and then be married!! Life sure has been crazy but it is exciting-- and I sure love it! I need to get photos up from the wedding, but I am having to use my mom's computer because we do not have the internet yet. I will post pictures from the wedding as soon as I have my disc over here!

Dustin and I tied the knot May 14, and it was the best day ever!! Everything went smoothly, and I couldn't have married a better guy!!! Married life is amazing!!! It is so fun having your best friend there with you all the time!!

This weekend the hunts started so let's hope Dustin and his brothers kill some good bucks!!!

I start school on the 29th- it is my last semester of classes, then Spring semester I will student teach AND GRADUATE in April!! I cannot wait to be done and finally start my career as an elementary school teacher. Dustin is still waiting for the union to call him out to be a lineman electrician. He is so excited, and I am excited for him! It will be awesome for him to do something he loves!!! -- It will just be sad when he has to travel a ton!!!

This summer we were just busy hanging out with each of our families. It was so nice to get a break from school and just focus on being newlyweds :) I am not ready to go back to school yet but then deep down I am, because the sooner I start the quicker I can be DONE!!!!

I am sure the ones that know have been waiting for a post about our baby boy.... Yes, that is right we are expecting a little one-- Dustin will have a little hunting buddy :) He is due October 21st, and he is doing super good right now! He is moving a ton, and the doctor says he is healthy. This next week coming up I will be 32 weeks! It has flown by but I can't wait to meet our little man!! :)

Wedding Planning, Birthday, Finals.....

WOW! That is all I can say! My life has been going a million miles an hour. Whoever decided to plan a wedding, have school finals, have mine and Dustin's birthdays, and much more all at the same time was crazy; oh wait that was ME!!! It has been fun planning it all, but I sure can't wait til May 14th comes so we can stop planning!! I am super excited because school will be over next week, then I will start updating more. I promise!!

Crazy to say I am engaged:), but it is the best feeling in the world!. It happened today, March 19th :) We went up to the Provo Temple and were standing by the fountains. Not gonna lie, I knew Dustin had been sneaky all day.. But I honestly had no idea what was going on. While we were standing there I seen Lexi (Dustin's Sister-in-law) come up to the left side of us. I was thinking at this point WTH is going on.. I turned around and up the stairs was walking Dustin's two nephews, Trevor and Trey. They had flowers, a gift bag, and balloons. I looked at Trey's shirt and it said "Will you Marry Dustin?" I couldn't believe it! The ring was in the gift bag so Dustin took it out, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him :) It was the best day EVER! I am sooo excited to spend the rest of my life with the person I love more than anything. He truly is the best guy in the world, and he treats me so GREAT! I am so thankful for Dustin's family spending time planning this great day! It was so amazing, and a day that I will never EVER forget :) I will post pictures when I get them from Lexi!!!

Life (:

Well I figured it was time for a regular post from me! I haven't really been up to much lately, just school and homework. Things have been going pretty well this semester so far. Except for the reading is SO intense this semester, we are reading 400+ pages a week for all six classes combined so it is CRAZZZY! But O well I will survive I am sure. Other then school my life is pretty boring! I hang out with Dustin and my family as much as possible, but it is mainly just on the weekends! It is so nice to go down and see them. I feel like I get a little bit of a break!

On Feb. 25th I will have an interview for an intership in Nebo School District. We will find out that night whether we received the internship or not. I am really nervous!! If we receive the internship I will go to school full-time through the summer and start teaching my VERY OWN class this August. If I do not receive the intership I will just have two more semesters after this one, and will graduate in Spring of next year. It is crazy that it is so close now. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I love all of my friends. I have stayed close with a few people from high school which I really enjoy, and I have made new friends along the way. My friends really are the best and like I have said before I got blessed with great people in my life. :)

I started doing this because a lot of my friends were doing it on their blogs, and I thought it would be pretty fun! I have enjoyed it.. but some of the things are kind of dumb :)

I think that the only real thing that has changed on my physical appearance is my hair. It has gotten way longer and it is a different color. My attitude has changed a lot since last year, and it has been a really great change. I am so much happier, and I LOVE IT!

day 29- in this past month, what have you learned

To be honest within the past couple of months I have learned so much about myself, and how to make myself a better person. The last few months have been pretty tough: my great grandma passed away, my little brothers' dad passed away, some other things in my personal life went wrong. It really has been a roller coaster, but I tell you what it has sure made me a stronger person. I have changed a lot in the past couple of months for the better I feel like. It was like I was always complaining about something. I realized after a few things happened that I needed to change my attitude or else I was going to be miserable my whole life. I decided that I needed to start being happier, and realize the good things in my life before they all passed me by. I am so glad that I was a "big enough person" to admit my fault and work towards changing it because so many good things have came from this change. Also, I have learned that I was so worried about trying to make everyone else happy and pleased around me that I wasn't making myself very happy. I know in life we tend to live it for other people, but sometimes we need to make ourselves happy. I am glad that I have made some better decisions to make myself happy :)... But I have to balance it out because I don't want to get so wrapped up in my own life that I forget about everything else important :)

My dream is to graduate school and become an elementary school teacher. I am only a little than 3 semesters away from this. I will then go back for my Master's Degree in administration to hopefully become a principal someday. I hope to get married and have a family someday as well! I hope to have a healthy, happy life and love every minute of it! :) Also, someday I will go through the temple with my husband. I believe in an eternal family, and I will make sure I get it :)

The only nicknames I really have are "Criss" and "Crissa Lee" but that is just because of my name. A couple people from high school call me "Stars" but that is just because an inside joke of a pick up line lol!

Sheesh, I love a lot of people. I love my family, friends, my boyfriend- Dustin, and of course his family. I am so blessed with the people in my life. I would be lost without them. So thanks to all of them.!

uhhhhh... i have a lot of people...... The person I would switch Places with would probably have to be Harriet Tubman. (am I a nerd?! haha) Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with this extrodinary lady. She helped free slaves by the underground railroad.
